Eric Bloom is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead singer and stun guitarist of rock band Blue Öyster Cult.

Eric is the son of Carrie and Benjamin Nathan Bloom. His grandparents were all Jewish immigrants. He was raised in Queens.

Eric’s paternal grandfather was Joseph Blum/Bloom (the son of Shalom David May Blum and Florence Fayga Goldberg). Joseph was born in the Russian Empire, to a family from Lithuania.
