Jonah Ray is an American actor, comedian, writer, and podcaster. He is known for headlining the show Mystery Science Theater 3000, and also hosted The Nerdist Podcast and Comedy Central’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail.

Jonah’s paternal grandfather was George Raymond Rodrigues (the son of George Raymond Rodrigues and Emilia De Motta). Jonah’s grandfather George was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Jonah’s great-grandfather George was the son of Jacintho Jose Rodrigues, who was Portuguese, and of Maria da Gloria Garcia, whose parents were also Portuguese. Emilia was the daughter of John De Motta and Rose Freitas, who were both the children of Portuguese immigrants.

Jonah’s paternal grandmother was Mildred June Furtado (the daughter of Louis Anthony Furtado and Virginia Marie Gomes). Mildred was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Louis was the son of Jose Joseph “Joe” Furtado, who was Portuguese, from Arrifes, Ponta Delgada Municipality, Azores, and of Caroline “Carrie” Teves, whose parents were also from Portugal, from Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores.

Jonah’s maternal grandfather is named Joseph Erickson (the son of Joseph Erickson and Lillian). Jonah’s great-grandfather Joseph was the son of Charles Erickson and Louisa Johnson.
